It’s been a year since the band started to play. It’s been a whirlwind, and my overwhelming feelings at this moment of reflection are pride on what we’ve achieved so far and excitement for the future. My positive demeanour is even attracting the interest of my two kids – who are just starting out in their own careers. They are increasingly asking me what I do and why I do it. My reply is simple: I tell them how rewarding it is to work in a sector you genuinely love.

The Headlines

Indeed, the BAND team’s love for our clients in the UK’s incredible creative sector has been instrumental in driving the 20% growth we’ve achieved over the past 12 months. Our first-year growth has also been powered by the successful integration of Redfin into BAND’s operations. Redfin’s arrival was a highlight of our first 12 months, enhancing our capabilities significantly. Their fantastic team, led by Julian Davies and Shelley Watkin, has been absolutely superb.

As a result of this growth, BAND now has over 40 dedicated colleagues, with more to come.

The past year has also seen us fortify many industry relationships, one of the most vital being our renewed partnership with the Alliance of Independent Agencies. In pursuit of yet more positive relationships, we’ve hosted some excellent industry events, including our regular BANDwidth gatherings and FutureForge. These aim to foster deep industry connections, helping business owners and young professionals alike navigate their paths with confidence.

Our Identity and Mission

Over the past year, we’ve clarified not just what BAND does but how and why we do it. From expanding services like HR to soon offering financial planning, we’re evolving to meet our clients wherever they are in their journeys —be it growth, transition, or innovation. Our role goes beyond service; we are advisors, partners, and supporters of every client’s unique path.

Our Why — More Than Just Business

However, above all else, the past year has, for me, revealed that the heart of BAND is our purpose — our deep-rooted, overriding passion for supporting other business owners in the creative, media, sports and entertainment sectors. Many of the BAND team, myself included, have navigated the highs and lows of business, from launching agencies to steering major integrations. Therefore, we understand the challenges and triumphs our clients face. This empathy drives our mission not just to serve but to uplift our clients, making their success our primary goal.

Looking Forward

As we enter our second year, the future is ripe with potential. The upcoming months promise exciting developments in the creative and sports sectors – areas where our passion and expertise continue to grow. We are poised not only to respond to the evolving needs of our clients but to anticipate them, ensuring BAND remains synonymous with support, innovation and community.

BAND’s first anniversary is a reaffirmation of our commitment to excellence and empathy in everything we do. Here’s to another year of building meaningful, successful relationships. Thank you to everyone who has been part of our journey so far.
