Hydrate at Work, Help Communities: BAND’s Partnership with AquAid

11 June 2024 | 1 min read

We all need to stay hydrated at work, so why not do some good at the same time? That’s why we’ve chosen to invest in water coolers from AquAid.

For every purchase we make through AquAid a donation is made to The Africa Trust, helping provide clean drinking water to communities in need. These funds support the construction of ‘Elephant Pumps’ – a modern take on a traditional Chinese rope pulley system. One of these pumps is currently being installed in Africa on our behalf, providing fresh, clean water to many. Our organisation’s name will be proudly displayed on the well, and we look forward to sharing a photo and a letter of thanks from the villagers soon!

To date, AquAid has built over 10,000 Elephant Pumps in Liberia, Malawi, Mozambique and Zimbabwe, and donated over £20 million to charity.
