Built for what’s next: the next chapter of BAND
I want BAND to be known for understanding what people are trying to build and helping them get there.
We’ve brought together some brilliant people and businesses over the last few years. There’s a lot of experience here, along with client relationships that have taken years to build. The team are proud of that, as am I.
But bringing everyone together is the starting point. What matters now is what we make possible for each other and for our clients.
The creative industries, particularly media, sport and entertainment, have been an important part of BAND’s story. Those relationships helped us build our reputation and, more importantly, understand the people behind the businesses we advise.
As we’ve grown, we’ve realised that our strongest client relationships have as much to do with mindset as industry. They want to build something, improve it or take it in a different direction. Often, they’re making big decisions without having all the answers.
We’re not defined by sector. We’re defined by mindset.
We recognise that because we’re doing it ourselves. We’re hiring people, investing, weighing up opportunities and working out how to grow in the right way. We know there’s a person behind every decision, with something riding on the outcome.
That’s why The Entrepreneurial Advisors feels right for BAND. It reflects the best of what we already do, while setting a standard we want every client to experience.
To us, being entrepreneurial isn’t about being a founder or taking unnecessary risks. It’s about being curious, looking beyond the immediate task, spotting opportunities and taking ownership of the outcome.
One thing we’ve learned is that having more expertise in the business doesn’t automatically make us more useful. We have to join it up. A client shouldn’t have to work out who knows what across BAND. They should have someone who understands them and brings the right people into the conversation.
The same goes for our advice. Getting the technical work right is essential. But the numbers are the start of the conversation, not the whole conversation. We need to explain what they mean, give an honest view and help our clients decide what to do next.
Sometimes that means encouraging someone to back an idea. Other times it means saying, “I think we need to look at this again.” Both take judgement and a relationship where you can speak openly.
Ultimately, I want our clients to feel they have people in their corner who understand what they’re trying to achieve, are prepared to challenge them when it matters and care about the outcome.
And I want our people to feel they can contribute in that way, whatever their role. If they spot something we could do better, I want them to say so and have the support to do something about it. We have too much talent here to leave good ideas unheard.
I’m ambitious for what BAND can become. I want us to grow, do work we’re proud of and become a firm that ambitious businesses actively want in their corner.
The evolved brand gives us a clearer way to express who we are and where we’re going. But a positioning only means something if we live up to it.
My job is to make sure we do.
I want our people to be proud of what we’re building and our clients to feel they have someone alongside them who understands what they’re trying to achieve and cares enough to help them get there.
Because the best advisors don’t just measure growth. They help create it.
BAND. Built for what’s next.
